Should it Stay or Should it Go?

My hair is officially the longest that it has ever been and I have been getting mixed commentary about it. Some people absolutely love it while others utterly detest it. I figured that I would grow out the beard as well, just to make myself look completely different. Honestly, I feel like I am ready cut my hair and go clean shaven, but a part of me wants to keep growing it out just to see how bad it can get. What do you think? (and don't worry, I am not easily offended so feel free to be candid).

I think a trim might do you good but keeping it a little long wouldn't be so bad. You know, just to give it character.

I'm not shy when sharing my opinion so here goes: CUT IT OFF!!!
:) You look loads better with short hair. Maybe keep a mustache, just for Rachel, but I've always liked your hair nice and short.

P.S. I'd love an update on your garden. What are you cooking with all those veggies. How do you keep up? From just one yellow squash plant, I've had WAY too much squash to eat. I always have this problem when gardening. Would love to see some pictures and if you have any great veggie recipes, I'd love some.

Go bald and clean shaven on one side, keep all the hair on the other.

Well, since you asked: PLEASE CUT YOUR HAIR!!! PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE!!! I'LL BAKE YOU A CAKE! I'LL WEED YOUR GARDEN! I'LL TAP DANCE IN FRONT OF YOUR HOUSE WITH A GIANT SIGN THAT SAYS "BRETT IS THE KING!" IF ONLY YOU WILL JUST CUT YOUR HAIR! PLEASE!!!

But a mustache is not a bad idea.

You know I'm pretty anti-hair on a guy. I almost always prefer short hair (unless it's curly) and no facial hair (though a soul patch isn't too bad)

Still, you have a grand opportunity before you. One that is not available to many men. I have one final word for you my friend, and the word is:

MULLET.

Amanda said...

OH NO!!!! Do not get a mullet! I can just see the smirk forming on Brett's face as he reads Mullet! Don't do it, friend! It's not worth it. Just having a picture of that in your possession could be one of those mistakes you can't take back. Someone will post it on facebook and somehow, a future employer/girlfriend/wife...will find it and gone will be the days of joy!

Well I'm going to say go short because I'd like to see Rachel tap dance in front of your house, and I have a feeling she'd make a pretty awesome cake for you.

I think Brett should go on that show Look-A-Like, where they make the person up to look like a movie (or music) star. The stylists do the hair, make-up, wardrobe, and then a photo shoot. Take a look at my blog to see if you think you can he pull it off...

Hmmm...about those bangs...yeah, they have to go. Sorry. Maybe the 'stache too, but it is more tolerable if you keep a trimmed beard. It's just my honest opinion. The cake will be worth it.

All you're lacking is a wife beater.

I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure I've seen you on the Geico commercials. My wife says to cut it off ASAP! Looks like I'm the only guy making a comment on this, but maybe you should go to a proffesional stylist and they could help you in finding a new look. I feel less manly for saying that. Bye bye

LIZ, I like a little character. . . that is a possibility. . .
AMANDA, a mustache, really? That is hilarious! I actually have to agree with you--I think I look loads better with short hair too. As for the garden--I posted pictures of it a couple of weeks ago (just scroll down through a few posts and you will see pictures).
NICOLE, I did that once (minus the shaved head) and wore it to work--I had promised to do a half beard for my students in a deal with state testing.
RACHEL, I will be expecting a cake and a tap dance Saturday night when you arrive for Poetry Night. And while I do plan to cut it soon, I think it will still be around come Saturday (perhaps you should bring a curling iron and we could make little locks for our Hebrew theme:).
MARY, I can only say one word in response to your one word: AWESOME! (and yes, Amanda, a smirk did form on my face when I read it--but never fear, despite all of the ugly stuff I have done to myself in the past, I don't think I could ever do a mullet).
ANDREA, you will have to come out with your hubby to witness the tap dance (a good excuse for a little vacation) or I guess we could just film it and send it to you.
MERRIE, that blog posting is GREAT!!! I would have never made the connection. . . I'm going to have to have my students start calling me "Mr. Ringo" (that makes more sense now--I have a couple of former students who stop in to visit me who say that they really like my look this year--they were also really excited for BEATTLES ROCK BAND to come out and told me that Ringo is their favorite. . .)
JENNETTE, being in the military, I thought you would like bangs (not that kind of bangs. . . O, and certainly not those kinds of bangs either--it is a good thing Jake doesn't read my blog! :).
GINA, . . . and a trailer park. . .
MIKE, you should feel less manly for saying that (but I did like the Geico jab--that was funny).

I am REALLY hoping that someone brings a curling iron to Poetry Night!!! While I am not a fan of a mullet, I could definitely support hebrew curls. Oh, the joy! I'm already looking forward to the pictures.
Then you could go to temple with the little guy from the neighborhood!

So, have you come to a decision on the coiffure?

Mr. Hall said...

Yes, I am sick of it. . . I don't know how you ladies do long hair. . . Needless to say, I will cut it and shave my beard in a few of weeks. . . I just need a little more time with people getting used to the ugly look so that I will look especially good when it is gone! :)
