100th Post

So, I have finally reached my 100th post and, as promised, I am going to offer a list for my readers. I allowed my readers to vote on which list they would like and the list of 100 favorite songs won out in large part to the enthusiastic replies by my good friend Mike Gissel who created a blog just so that he could vote! The bad news is that I couldn't come up with a list of 100 favorite songs. . . there were just too many songs that I couldn't eliminate, so instead, for my 100th post, you are getting my 200 favorite songs. If you think that is cheating then just read from 100 to 1. Thanks for all of your input and enjoy the list.

I have a few questions:

1.) Is this list set in stone or does it change? Will "I Melt With You" always be #113 or does it have a chance to move up?

2.) How did you do it? Seriously. I don't think I could rank my favorite songs.

3.) No Barry White? Really?

Holy cow, how'd you do that? It would take me forever to make a list of my favorite 200 songs. I love the fact that Mormon Tab and 2Pac are on the same list. Awesome!

Sorry for my gramatical error...that's supposed to say list of my 200 favorite songs.

Wow, I'm impressed!!

Of course, now I want to hear them all, and will probably spend the next few days making that my mission...

To those who commented:

RACHEL: 1. No, the list is not set in stone--it is very fluid (you got a snap shot for that moment on that day), which means that if I am in an 80's mood, yes, "I Melt With You" could very well move up. 2. I did it over a period of days, constantly organizing and changing the music in my itunes. I had a hard time ranking them, that is why I flushed it out to 200. The day after I submitted the post I placed my ipod on shuffle on the way to work and immediately started thinking, "Well, that song should have made the list. . ." 3. No Barry White. Sorry. As much as I love to mock his music, I couldn't bring myself to include it (even though I do own some of it--watch out wedding night!).

MIKE: Thanks for including your top 10. I'm surprised Kenny Chesney didn't crack it. . . "Back where I come from. . ." is the only song that I still have stuck in my head from our car-pooling days at Perry Color Card. You need to post your top 100 on your new blog! :)

ANDREA: I've heard that 2pac is going to be performing with the Tabernacle Choir. . . in the next life. . . :)

LIZ: You are welcome to borrow my ipod--it has the top 200 playlist on it--so long as you promise not to lose it, break it, or keep it. :)

MERRIE: Thanks for introducing me to "The Ocean Blue." Good stuff!

Hey, Mr. Hall listens to Sigur Ros, I'm listening to them right now, flugufrelsarinn to be exact. What I like about them is that they use an imaginary language they call hopelandic and its primary function is to be used as an instrument meaning the lyrics have no set meaning which also means the listeners are left to create their own meanings.

Props to Mr. Hall.
